Require producers to take responsibility for funding collection, treatment and recycling of WEEE Final Regulations due December 2006 become Law January 2007 rolled out in stages until July 2007 Domestic users – free take back of WEEE on new like for like sales Retailers – provide arrangements in-store or via distributor takeback scheme Producers – fund CT&R of WEEE Business end users – fund CT&R of “old” WEEE, if not replacing it by like for like; and “new” WEEE BY AGREEMENT only
